Should those who insisted fundamentals are strong, be included in repairing the economy?
Q. They have obviously categorized the situation poorly. Why would they know what to do now that the situation has become more critical?
Asked by Captain Connmannn! - Mon Sep 29 19:34:11 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. No. Secretary Paulson, along with John McCain and President Bush, kept insisting that the fundamentals of our economy were strong as late as 2 and a half weeks ago. It would be incomprehensible to allow any of these officials pretend they are aware of the complexities of the current financial meltdown that they perpetrated via deregulation and "free markets".

A. Is it a bread dough? That would be better to just do it by hand with a wooden spoon, because it would be too heavy for a hand mixer. But if it's a cake batter consistency, then it doesn't really matter, either will work just fine.

Q. I took time out of my workday to go see my wife receive a huge award. I wanted to hug & congratulate her. She abruptly stopped me before I could hug her & insisted that this is her workplace and that a hug was unprofessional & would embarrass her. I was so upset, I left after shaking her hand.

A. I don't care if the freakin POPE is standing there!!! You are husband and wife...If I went to hug and tell my wife how proud I was of her...and took off work to do it...and she "SHAKES" my hand...Hmmm...maybe it's just me...but professionalism takes a back seat to the one I'm sharing my life with. This is a crock of $hit! I wish you well my friend...and when you get a chance...please contact me and let me know how this BS turned out. I know this sounds full of "testosterone"...but I would be letting her know that there are a few rules in this marriage...#1...I will hug you or kiss you wherever I choose...end of story...Let me think...Hmmm...YES..."YOU " married each other!

Q. Does anyone know where this stems from? Was it experiences as a child? Or was he just paranoid?

A. For every tyranny educated people are a permanent threat, a nightmare. Tyrannies need slaves, not dissidents, need blind performers, not people who can think and discern good from evil. Besides, Pol Pot was a monster

If you are a smoker, have you ever gotten into a debate and insisted that it didn't matter if you smoked?
Q. The reason being because you die sometime so what does it matter? It totally matters to me. I'm not a smoker and I wanted to know what smokers think. Sorry, if I came across as negative. I always take the side that it does matter.
Asked by some guy - Mon Jan 19 00:53:30 2009 - - 13 Answers - 0 Comments

A. While I personally enjoy smoking, I understand that many people don't like the smell. My opinion is that if you're at my house or in my car, you're going to have to deal with it. But if I'm around someone else's property, I'll be courteous and either smoke away from that person or go outside to smoke. But no, I really have not gotten into a heated debate about smoking. (But that doesn't dismiss tiny arguments about it. I've had plenty of those.)

What did people use to say when: the person insisted on creating an arguement?
Q. These days, I've been noticing people say 'whatever' to get out a pointless argument (that the second person didn't start). And even when they "agree", they continue to argue and try to win a point they weren't losing in the first place. What did people say or do?? I myself seem silly saying 'whatever'. Nenuphar: I like that answer, but it wouldn't work in a question type arguement, it sounds like agreement. I want to go on vacation that costs too much. OKAY. Then when you later say you were only acknowledging it.. then they will say you agreed that it was a good idea. Then you are back at square one. dark angel: I agree with you but if it's in the family or some other close situation... then there is only SO much disassociating you can… [cont.]
Asked by Angel - Sun Sep 16 19:26:41 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I hate that word too. I just say "Okay." No matter what they just said. Example: "here's the lightbulb I use. See, it's an energy saver. I can leave my lights on all day if I want and it still won't be the waste of energy your lava lamp is" "Okay." It's all in the tone. Monotone. Kind of curious but it's not worth asking about. Pretend that whatever they just said was "Can I have that penny?"

MIL insisted that babies will gain more weight if breastfeeding hurt. Does this make any sense?
Q. So one day she walked in while I was feeding my son and "repositioned" him so that it hurt, saying that the correct way to breastfeed was the painful way. It's a sacrifice that all mothers should make. To support this statement, she said that she had breastfed all her kids the painful way, and all of them had gained more than the average babies. How do I act on this without causing a rift?
Asked by Shaun's Mamma - Fri Nov 30 11:21:00 2007 - - 29 Answers - 0 Comments

A. tell her she raised her kids, now you are gonna raise yours. as long as the baby is feeding, its gaining the weight he needs.. what the hell does pain have to do with anything... your mil cant prove that they wouldnt have gained the same amount of weight had she had breastfed the non painfull way.

But let's leave the right officials do their job and mine our own self. For sure some of them know what they doing. And illegals has a lengthy procedure of getting the amnesty. And my guess, it would be like the processing of legal immigration process. So, fair enough.

Did the people who a couple of years ago insisted that everyone eat margarine and not butter, ever apologize?
Q. Random thought while eating a delicious butter-soaked english muffin...I remember a couple years ago, every 'health expert' was against the fat in butter, so insisted that everyone switch to margarine, before margarine became passe for being full of unhealthy transfats. Did those people ever apologize? Fortunately, I never liked the taste of margarine, so stuck with butter throughout. (And no, I don't eat unhealthily butter every day, but when I do have the choice, I always choose butter)

Should the United States have canceled the debts or insisted upon repayment?
Q. I'm looking for the arguments concerning debts owed to the U.S. after WWI. I need to know the importance of the dispute. Please help! Thanks!! = ] r33
Asked by Lame - Fri Jul 4 19:10:32 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I never heard of any debts owed to the US after WW l. If you mean WW ll, There was no actual war debt. The US provided over $50.1 billion (equivalent to nearly $700 billion at 2007 prices) worth of supplies to our allies during WW ll. The US never ask that a penny of that money , ever be repaid. Now After the war, the US sold Britian about 10 billion dollars worth of supplies, for one billion dollars. That amount was to be repaid over 50 years at 2% interest. ... To many people confuse war aid, with post war aid. The US never ask for repayment on any war aid, from any ally. But we did ask for repayment on aid given after the war was over.
